Nijo-jo
Nijo-jo is one of our favorite castles. It was built in 1603. It was built for the first Tokugawa shogun, Ieyasu. The kids enjoyed showing there grandpa the nightingale (squeaky) floors that were installed as a security measure. Unfortunately they do not allow any pictures inside so all the pictures below are of the outside, gate, garden and moat.

It’s just not a castle without a moat

The kids had fun seeing their Grandparents.
