Shukkein Garden

Shukkeien Garden was begun in 1620. unfortunatly it had to be rebuilt in 1945. It is located about 4 blocks from our appartment. It is very nice.

Erik, if you are reading this we will need to borrow the loader again. We will have a lot of digging to do when I get anouther house.

The pond is full of very large red ear slider turtles.

The garden give us a lot of good ideas for a water garden.

This is one of the bambo groves in the garden.

Hi Aunt Alice, It is the rainy season here. Each of the outings we have had some rain. I think that is keeping the crowds down. Besides we are in Hiroshima, the people in Tokyo and Osaka consider us Country Bumpkins. Nice to hear from you!!!!
