The Kokura Castle is located in the city of Kitakyushu in the northern most point on the southern island of Kyushu. It was a couple km from our Hotel. This Castle was originally built in 1602 but was burnt down a couple of times. The castle as seen now was rebuilt in 1959.
Every city in Japan seems to have a castle, shrines and an onsen. We have not had the guts to do the onsens yet.
The fish flags are for “Boy's day” (5/5/07)
I love Japanese gates.
The castle was being refurbished.
Hailey getting a royal ride.
In Japan you see the new and the old living in close proximity.
Kind of funny the mall is right next to the castle.
